Mosaic Monday - More Fun on Our Ride in the Country

Yesterday's post showed the farms and fields in the storm and then in the sun - but there was much more that we saw too.
Some pretty doves walking in a farm yard.  I rarely can get a photo of the Doves - they seem to be so nervous and any little thing sets them to flying away

An abandoned house - such a sadness - the house has such potential.

The maples are putting on their autumn colors.
And we came across the cutest log cabin imaginable.  I don't know how old it is - but it is well cared for and in great condition.
A stone chimney of river rocks and fruit trees in the front yard, with a wood pile in the side yard

The logs have been squared off and notched together.  What a lovely place to live - such memories this old house must hold.

Yes, doves are very flighty and nervous birds but so pretty. You got some great pics of them. The old log house is adorable and so well kept. Enjoy the week ahead.

I would love to have a log cabin, but it wouldn't work on a float, too heavy. As would a real cooking woodstove. But I'll trade those in for my floating home. Doves make such a lovely sound. - Margy

Wow, that's a true log house with the squared ends. The old farm house certainly does have potential and the outside looks to still be in fair condition - oh to have some extra money!
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday JoAnn.

We have Rufus Turtle Doves here and they are often in pairs and easy to photograph because even when they move,it is usually on foot and together.
My granddad was born in a one-room log cabin ... certainly not that fancy. That farm house certainly doesn't deserve to be abandoned.

That's a beautiful little log cabin. Cozy as can be. It's always sad to see a house abandoned, especially when it looks to be in as good a shape as the one you've photographed. Doves are skittish birds, but oh, so pretty. Great photos.

Lovely shots! I like doves ... they almost knock on my back door in the morning for their morning buffet! Lovely fall color and the log cabin is a gem. Wow! Romantic, too! Have a lovely week.

I often wonder why people abandon such cute little houses only to fall into disrepair. The log cottage is adorable.

Gorgeous homes, even the abandoned one which I suspect may be a victim of the financial meltdown. The log home has beautiful details - thanks for getting them into your shots.
