Spring Luncheon

I am a bit behind on my posting - on Easter our daughters and their families came up for a spring luncheon.
The table was set with my cabbage leaf dishes
And a spring bucket of handkerchief napkins

And yellow with white polka dot flatware
Sugar cookies with frosting and colored coconut bird nests - and malted milk bird eggs
On a vintage aluminum two tiered server - with cookies without coconut for those who preferred them that way.

I used the same center piece as for my birthday

Tiny bouquets of violas and Johnny-Jump-Ups from my birthday gift

 Lots of cookies
And blue glasses to go with the blue cabbage plates

Here comes the food - lots of finger sandwiches -  chicken salad with grapes and celery, egg salad, ham and cheese with pickles, cream cheese with cranberries, pecans and orange marmalade (a huge hit), turkey and cheese.  Ham fingers and a big fruit salad with sliced cucumbers and radishes to add to your sandwiches if you please.

And of course, deviled eggs on the chicken plate - a gift from Don (the plate - not the eggs, I had to make those myself)

It was a very good luncheon.  And then .  .  .
More fun - the boys had a Silly String competition with Auntie Lori.

  1. Yummy looking feast, JoAnn. I ♥ all the cabbage dishes. Are those pale blue BP cabbage plates? I don't think I have seen any that pale, until now. I have 8 colors to date.

  4. Oh the yummy food choices you have there, everything looks wonderful. The sandwiches all sound so tantalizing especially the orange marmalade with pecans, boy does that ever sound tasty! Did you toast the pecans for the sandwiches? The BP cabbage plates look fabulous for your Easter table. I love all of the BP cabbage plates but I am totally smitten with the blue cabbage plates (I love that pale blue color). The sweet yellow polka dot flatware is right at home in the daisy pail and the bunnies in your centerpiece.

  5. I would have eventually landed here anyway because you are a very favorite of mine, but the pretty cabbage dishes in my Blogger reader sent me over here immediately! I just love seeing how you blend old and new, gifts and purchases, and your creativity to make such charming place settings. The pastel tones tie everything together and the result is a tabletop that's appealing since it's not a boring, "canned" look of everything bought together in one box on the same day!
Had to smile at the silly string fight! Oh my! Little boys and a can of that PLUS a bonus fun-loving auntie to double the fun? What a happy day! :)
