I love taking photos of old barns. I once thought maybe we could make a trip photographing barns! Might take a lot of extra time....but wouldn't it be fun? Enjoy your day my friend and thanks for the encouragement. Sweet hugs Diane
Hi JoAnn! I would like to know the story behind this beautiful old barn. I bet some kids had lot of fun playing there. Take care of yourself! Thanks for visiting my blog and for your kind words. Arlette
Time has left it behind and not been kind. Barns usually saw a lot of hard work. I'm not sure that later generations have been as eager for the punishing efforts with smaller rewards.
Hi Jo, The ridge line is straight. And, from the photo, it looks like the roof could have a very slight bow to it like a ship's hull. Maybe not, but it's a beauty. If you get a minute, pop on over and read my latest post. gives a bit of breaking info about me. Nothing horrible, just info. xo, m & jb
I have a similar barn as we drive almost to my house. I try to take picture but traffic is always behind. Never fails. And we cannot park it is a country highway. So I am so glad you took your old barn .
A thing of beauty and you wonder where are the owners. I guess long gone but what a story it must of entailed.
Hi JoAnne you really have a lovely blog. I scrolled through quite a bit. Love the header. What program do you use for your collages/mosaics? I like the different shapes. MB
From the color of the wood at the top and the pattern of the algae it almost looks like something once hung on this end. So sad to see them in this condition. My first thoughts are always to wonder why they didn't do little repairs as they were needed. LOVE your header!
An oldie, but goodie. The ridge line is still nice and straight, no sagging on this baby. Tom The Backroads Traveller

ReplyDeleteToo bad this barn has been let go but it looks like the land is no longer being used for farming.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is an old beauty. Settling back into the dust.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think it would be fun to know the stories about these old barns and buildings.

Old barns always intrigue me - wondering about their stories and wishing I could go in and poke around to see what's left of their history.
ReplyDeleteYes! I wonder about the stories this barn could tell ... I love old buildings. Too bad some are left to decay!

ReplyDeleteI often wonder what the old buildings could tell if they could talk. Sad to see in such a state tho.

If it could only share the many stories you just know it holds. What a peaceful location to collect one's thoughts too.

It's a wonderful old over-grown barn! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the top photo. There's a wistfulness about the barn.
ReplyDeleteI'd say it is too far gone at this point. What a shame. It does have so much character, though. Love it. Thanks for sharing it this week!

You know I love old barns and always wish I knew their stories. It is still standing straight and tall even as it settles into the ground.

Wow, that one has had a hard life. I always wonder what they would tell us if the walls could talk. I bet it would be fascinating.
