The Seasonal Ponds are here again. They appear in the fields when we have heavy rains and disappear when there is less rain. They attract ducks and give great opportunities for photos.
The Mallards are up against the far shore
I love the Mallard quacking - it sounds like little motor boats puttering along
Photos are taken with Nikon CoolPix600

I love the idea of seasonal ponds - great capture of the lustrous green heads of the males and I love the reflection of all the trees in the water
Love the reflection of the bare trees in the lake. I like the duck stretching his neck out forward, a great action shot. - Margy
A lovely collection of great images!
Very pretty reflections and I love the mallards.
Great shots! The ducks are so cute, and I really love the reflections of the trees.
I love all the reflections of the drakes with their green heads!! Good thing you had a lens that could get you close to them!!
Lovely! The first is my favorite! A real pristine image, taken by someone who really knows what they're doing behind the lens! (As I have often said before!)
Oh we have seasonal ponds here too - but I usually call them lawn lakes :)
Nice to see the mallards - they've mostly disappeared from the ponds near us.
They are common birds but the males have such striking colors!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, JoAnn! (Will we see pictures of a beautiful table?)
Looks like you got a Spot-bill there. Visiting from Japan?
Such wonderful reflections of the ducks but the trees are my favourite! Great ZIZO
They are lovely on the water....
Mallard are common in the UK - probably the most common of the ducks I think - but I never tire of seeing the wonderful jewel like colours of the drake's head.
Beautiful photos....the ducks are wonderful!
These pictures are beautiful!
