In Autumn - by Winifred C. Marshall
They are coming down in showers,
The leaves all gold and red;
They are covering the little flowers,
And tucking them up in bed.
They have spread a fairy carpet
They will rustle 'neath our feet

Joann, this is delightful! It's 1 AM, I'm awake because I don't feel that great, but the poem and pictures you offered today put a smile on my face.
Smiling at you from Maryland, Maureen & Josephine (the cat)
I like the moss and leaf image best. The green is so intense. - Margy
JoAnn, really beautiful pics and love the little poem..Looks like fall for sure.. There is a beautiful maple tree a couple of doors down and when the sun sets on it you would think its on fire. So pretty and something I look forward to each fall. Yesterday had pretty heavy winds and the leaves are almost all on the ground..Boo Hoo..Happy Thursday..Judy
Beautiful colours and a sweet poem, thank you!
Oh, I really like that first shot of the beautiful autumn leaves!
Not much color here yet.
Beautiful images. The first picture's leaves colors are so vivid and rich. I read this poem yesterday while searching for words to use. They are perfect for this week's word.
Such wonderful fall colors - those maple leaves, gorgeous. Perfectly with your words.
Clever and lovely matching of words and pictures.
A pretty Autumn post, the leaves and colors are gorgeous.. I love the pretty flower arrangement..Have a happy weekend!
Your first picture just BURSTS and shouts "autumn!"
We live on a quarter acre of woods - oaks. While they provide endless acorns and fun for squirrel-watching, the colors are never as vivid as those of the maple tree. But my childhood home was on a street of them and walking to school this time of year was like going through a tunnel that was on fire. Exciting!
JoAnn, all the photos are beautiful, but I especially love the first photo, absolutely gorgeous...it reminds me of my home state, Vermont.
My daughter recently came back from visiting her cousin/aunt in the Port Townsend area and said she is ready to move there, she just loved it.
Have a wonderful week.
Lovely! I think the wind yesterday whipped a lot of leaves from the trees. The weather is making it harder for the fall colors to put on a real show. Enjoy it while it lasts!
This was delightful. There is something so fun about rustling through fallen leaves. Great posts and photos to go with the words.
