This is a very common shape for the hay barns. A few days before this photo was taken the farmer had been painting and putting on a new roof.
Some of the old barns in our area, used a little or unused after years of service
Another hay barn - it has a smile on its face
No longer in use - this barn could tell us many wonderful stories.

Lovely collection of barns.. I love the big red barns, a pretty sight.. Wishing you a happy week ahead!
I love barns, and often take pictures just because. Always wish I could go inside and explore!
Love the barn pictures, mostly a different style than ours. But ours are slowly disappearing too.
I found you via Lavender Cottage (Mosaic Monday). LOVE LOVE LOVE your Mosaics of the old barns. I'm always on the look-out for old homestead shacks and barns. You did a great job. I just got home from 10 days in Alaska (North Pole area) baby-sitting my daughter's two little girls as her husband had to fly to Florida for a week for work. I was worn out by the time I headed home, but I loved every minute of it! Stop by my blog sometime. I think I'll sign up to follow you - I hope you join mine as well. Mona.
Oh I adore barns and you have been busy capturing so many ...wonderful!
I think all of the barns could tell some wonderful stories. It is a good thing for historical data to photograph barns while they're still standing. I have a friend that has done this for a number of years and most of the barns are long gone now. She asked me one day if I remembered the barn where the Lowes store now sits - I'd love to see the photo and remember.
Thank you for linking to Mosaic Monday JoAnn.
You've found some great barns. How nice to find one being fixed up! I hate to see them in disrepair but I know it takes a lot to bring them back to life.
Hi JoAnn. I love looking at, and the thought of, old barns. I spent many an afternoon in my grandfather's barn watching him milk the cow and squirt the barn kittens!..Very pretty pictures..Happy Monday..Judy
I so love barns too JoAnn, always wishing I could peek inside to see the old farm equipment, hay bales, and perhaps a huge mama cat with a pile of little kitties snuggled beside her! The rats I wouldn't like and I just know they'd be lurking somewhere!
Great pics - they did a lovely job on that first one - bet it cost a bomb with such a huge roof.
Thanks as always for your lovely comments when you stop by - you are special.
Have a wonderful first week of Autumn - less than half and hour and it will be here!
Hugs - Mary
Barns are so wonderfully photogenic. They bring back memories of my grandparents' farms and fun times with my cousins.
All the hard work of repainting and reroofing resulted in a beautiful looking barn.
