Swans and Ducks

With the rain and melting snow we've had lately, there are many puddles and small ponds in the fields in Skagit County - and an amazing number of ducks, and a few Trumpeter Swans

Flocks of Mallards and Pintails - and a few Trumpeter Swans

I love the contrast in size

Swans reflected in the field pond

Swans taking off
A little ways down the road - Swans reflected in a puddle in the green field

I've never gotten a photo of Swans swimming - I was excited!
It won't be long until the Swans migrate north to their breeding grounds

Amazing and awesome! On the way to the grocery yesterday mid afternoon we came upon a huge flock of snow geese...maybe 300, feeding in a field. They were just passing through as an hour later they were gone. I didn't have my camera in my purse and never thought to use my phone's camera.

The swans in flight are awesome! You took some amazing photos my friend! We went to a wildlife park and saw some swans yesterday. They are such lovely creatures! Hugs!

This is a wonderful assortment of photos and the swans are so beautiful! They look almost comical standing with the ducks; the contrast in size is really something. Great series!

Great photos... but I hope that those swans don't migrate to quickly to the north here or they will find cold frigid weather and snow.

Oh yeah Joann, it's a pretty big size difference when you see them together. I spied a couple of snow geese flocks here in Vancouver, (well, not actually IN Vancouver...lol), but they've all moved away now. Love seeing all these guys though, and there are still some buffleheads and goldeneyes at the beaches. :) Hope you have a lovely, lovely week ahead of you.

Nice photos! I like the ones with the swans best, especially the ones with their reflection in the water and when they are surrounded by the smaller birds.
