Green Heron

This is one of two Green Herons I've ever seen.  This was at the Alaska Ferry Terminal in Bellingham, WA.

I hope to see more sometime.

Have you ever seen a Green Heron?

  9. We just have the huge blue heron visit our ponds. Have not seen a green heron. They look smaller from your pictures. When the blue flies off I can hear his wins flapping. Magnificent bird.

  10. I have seen a couple of night herons and I think they look a little like this one here; at least their size is similar - not as huge as the great blues. This one is a beauty. You got some very nice shots!

  13. I've never seen a Green Heron. I don't think so. Before I met you I think I'd just glance at any water bird and say, "Oh, there's a heron!" But now I'll want to know the species and everything else there is to know about him/her!
