A Hint of Spring

Yesterday it was pouring rain - coming down by the bucketful, but we had errands to run - so off we went.  The farther south we went (heading towards the meat market in Stanwood) the less rain there was - and finally a little filter sunshine.  And we found some hints of spring.

Crocus filling a lawn, some Rosemary blooming, a little white flowering tree, and one whole bush of rhododendron in full bloom.  It sat in a little alcove in a yard, surrounded by protective evergreen shrubs - its own little greenhouse.  I'm  not sure what the flowering shrub in the bottom right is, any suggestions?

We stopped at a cafe in  Stanwood for lunch - this is the little white flowering tree, reflected in the top of our car.  Spring is on the way!!!!!

  3. What a pretty mosaic. We're seeing signs of Spring here in Florida....and pollen, too! But we love it and aren't complaining! Enjoy your week!

  4. Sounds like you and I experienced the same rain yesterday. It's been so nice to have breaks from the rain and see Spring popping up here and there...

  5. It is, indeed! We have pollen from oaks everywhere. So it has sprung here. xo

  6. Hey, hooray for spring. Look at everything go Joann. I guess you're just a bit warmer than we are. The plum in the garden is still in tight bud here in Van, but the crocuses are doing brilliantly. :)

  8. We still have a foot of snow on the ground even though there's been a few breakthrough days where the sun shines and it's "warm" (40-ish). I've sure learned about Washington from you - would have expected that a far north state would have a worse winter than ours. The flowers are wonderful!
