There is a large garden in the middle of town - they grow vegetables and flowers - and have greenhouses and have plants to sell. They have a large farm stand there and sell their produce, plants and flowers, plus peaches, cherries and corn, and later, apples from the eastern side of Washington, which is much warmer than here by the ocean.
They are open from Mother's Day (hanging baskets) until October. Locals flock there to buy the best of the best - the sweetest of the sweet and the prettiest of the pretty. There is limited parking, but we always manage to find a spot. As soon as you open the car door, walk up or get off your bicycle, you feel the mood of the place. It is like a summer festival - everyone is in such a good mood. Friends greet friends and the workers at Joe's Garden are friendly and very helpful (well except for one very grouchy lady who didn't want to help someone find a certain flower, but we've not seen her around lately - guess all that happiness drove her away - or something).
Rows of sweet smelling flowers - you can buy fresh cut flowers
