These Boots Are Made For . . . .

We saw this fence when we visited Plain, WA, near Leavenworth.  We couldn't find anyone to ask "Why?" - but we figured that someone had lost a boot, someone found it and stuck it on the fence - and then others started bringing old boots along and sticking them on the fence.  Sounds good to me.

Just a big ol' cowboy boot

Looks like a hiking boot

Then somebody got silly and stuck an old tennis shoe up there.

  4. Love the character of the boot with the peeling sole in the first photo. Interesting idea to give some spark to a fence style.

  10. I've seen shoes hanging in trees and on power lines, but not on a fence. Great find - funny!

  11. There's always someone that hears the beat of a different drummer. Cute idea. Kinda like tennis shoes hanging from the high wires here. I'll never figure out how they get them there or why they throw them there!

    1. For those who have been wondering about the tennis shoes on the wires - they are a signal that drugs are available nearby.(We have a friend who is a police officer, that's how I know). But I don't know how they got there - probably threw them up there until they caught, that's my guess.

  12. There is a fence not too far from us that has had a pair of cowboy boots on it for as long as I can remember...
