Wild Rose

The roadsides are covered in wild roses this time of year. Stopping to take photos is not just about the seeing - but about the smelling.  Driving along, the scent seems to follow you, as there are so many wild roses you are always near one.

And the fragrance is heavenly, I am sure!!!
A friend's grandfather always said that if it was a good year for the roses, it would also be a good year for the blueberries. Does that work in your part of the country, too?

Last year I had the good sense to harvest a lot of the wild rose buds to dry so I could savor the scent longer. The fragrance is s-o-o-o wonderful it's hard to get enough of it!

Surely everyone's absolute favourite wild flower. They are not out here yet but as we are having such wonderful weather, it is only a matter of time before they appear.

Hello JoAnn, that is a gorgeous picture of the roses. You are lucky to have wild roses growing by your roadside. Here we have Wisteria wild in the bush. It looks amazing when it blooms too. But they don't last lone. Do the roses bloom all summer?
Hugs,
Terri

What a beauty and I can imagine the scent from your description. It reminds me of a trip I went last year with my sister and brother in law and we drove by a field of scotch broom and just had to stop to smell the flowers and take pictures of course :). Thank you for coming to our party.
