I love dishes - old or new. These are my Cattail Dishes - they were made by Sears in the 1940s. For a long time I only had dessert plates - but now I have more wonderful additions.
They are all in perfect condition, after almost 70 years
Fresh baked cranberry orange scones are perfect for a tea party
Vintage spoons too - and a pretty butterfly
There are four cups - two with this base

Oh dear - polite ladies don't put their scone in the teacup, do they?
A vintage napkins, scone and teacup, ready for tea
This was such a delight to view! The tablecloth is the pattern my mom crocheted back in the early 1950s. To my chagrin, I lost it when moving back in 1975. I mourn that loss. When I first sighted the dishes, I thought they were the pattern that was available in Duz boxes many years. But seeing them up close, I realized they weren't because the Duz premiums had a wheat pattern.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty, JoAnn! Especially gorgeous against that beautifully crocheted tablecloth. Wish I could come and drink tea and eat scones with you.
ReplyDeleteOh these are beautiful dishes and to be in such incredible shape after that many years I could only wish to look that good. I love your table setting and scones and would love to drop in for tea. B
ReplyDeleteI covet these dishes! I have the covered bowls in three different sizes [refrigerator dishes?] and a mixing bowl. Love them! Wonderful photos...
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet pattern on these dishes! I love them and the fact that they are vintage makes them even more special. Thanks for joining Diann and I at TTF!

Joann, I've always loved this pattern - it's so lovely. Lucky you to have some beautiful pieces! And the scones look especially yummy.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in this week!

ReplyDeleteYOU KNOW WHO I AM
YOUR ELDER DAUGHTER (whose house kind of looked better before I painted it, didn't it? Oy.)
These are really lovely dishes...and they brought back memories to me. I haven't seen this set since the 60s. One of my neighbors had it. It is such a pretty pattern, and now so perfectly vintage! It looks fabulous on that crocheted tablecloth.
