In NW Washington spring is decorated with Wild Plum Trees - sometimes called Cherry Plum trees, because the fruit is so very small and only eaten by the birds. But the trees are wonderfully beautiful in the spring - growing alongside the road - in the woods - in fields.
In the woods
On farms
Alongside the roads
The blossoms are beautiful
Almost like an apple blossom - but without the pink
They decorate our spring so nicely
We have alot of those same beautiful tree's here in NW Oregon. Always a sure sign of spring!
ReplyDeleteI love spring and these photos are why : )
ReplyDeleteI am waiting patiently for the blossoms. This month will be beautiful if it doesn't get too hot.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures as always.
I wonder what the Latin name is for that tree. It can't be a plum because plum and apricot flowers are attached directly to the twig. They look a bit like our mountain cherry.
ReplyDeleteIs it Prunus emarginata? Lovely photos!
