The ponds near our house have ducks, usually mallards, and Canada Geese. The other day I saw this Canvasback duck diving - it was a great chance to try out the "sports" setting on my camera - rapid, continuous shots of moving objects.
Hope you were there when he came back up ... He really took a dive. Very awesome shot series ... lucky you to be in the right place at the right time with your camera in hand :)

Bloob!!! All gone! Great series!
I loved how you photographed it scene after scene! Pictures itself tell a story.
This was a great series--love the happy accidents when you just keep shooting and end up with some really good images.
I love that - going, going, gone! I hope he caught himself a nice fat fish! xx
A great sequence of photos catching that duck diving down out of sight.
Love these photos. I can't wait to do some birding near our house it would be fun seeing those birds coming home from winter hibernation.
Thanks in joining Water World Wednesday Kim,USA
Brilliant JoAnn - your camera obviously works very well indeed on such
shots.

I love to sit and watch the ducks.
Pretty!!! I love to go birding and watch and try and search out different birds for photographing, this post was a special treat for me.
What fun catching the duck in action and even disappearing after its prey. Thanks for sharing in Walk and Click Wednesday!!
