Silver Lake is a County Park, about an hour's drive from our house, on the way to Mt. Baker. It has camping sites, tent sites, a clubhouse, swimming beach, boat rentals, picnic areas and cabins to rent. Sometimes we go for just the day and have a picnic, and sometimes we rent a cabin for the weekend, and you get a free rowboat with your cabin rental.
This is the view of the lake from our cabin, high on a bluff. Don is bringing the rowboat around so we can take a ride. I love to row and so he gets very little chance a the oars, but he likes it that way too, so we are both happy.
In the early morning there is mist on the lake and the sound of ducks and loons.
In the afternoon the wind picks up and we decide we've had enough rowing, so we return to the cabin and enjoy some reading time and hot cups of tea on the deck overlooking the lake.
We are happy to be in a protected area - the wind is really whipping down the lake.
And at sunset the lake returns to calm. It was a very good day.

What a beautiful place. Amazing how the weather changed and then changed again. Did you say loons? I have not heard loons since I left Minnesota and I love them.
Terrific watery post.
oh to be rowing or paddling on a lake like this. I would love to take kayacks with us when we travel so that we can explore the waterways we camp beside.
Have a wonderful week. and thank you for stopping by my blog yesterday.
These shots are just so beautiful. The lake looks so tranquil, would love to be there. Take care. Chel x
That looks like the perfect weekend get-away! It must be so fun to go out on the lake in the little row boat. Beautiful. xx
Spending time on a deck overlooking this would be heavenly! Lovely shots.
