When our oldest daughter got married she had a non-traditional wedding. Instead of flowers she folded over 1,000 Origami Cranes, a symbol of good luck. These were hung from the ceiling with ribbons - and her cakes were non-traditional too. Her younger sister made the cakes.
Beginning to hang the cranes (our daughter's future brother-in-law and a friend lend a hand)
The wedding was held in the Alaska Ferry Terminal in Bellingham - this is the view from the glass dome at the end of the upstairs room where the wedding was held.
The boat leaving the harbor carried the bride and groom across the bay after the wedding.
Along the center aisle.
Our daughter's choice for cakes was natural and simple. Her sister did a fabulous job, one with plums.
And a cake with grapes and grapevines.
It was a fabulous wedding - a fabulous day - and fabulous memories.
