Sunsets in Washington are amazing this time of the year. We were driving down Alabama Hill - no it is not in Alabama, that is the name of the street. Our grandsons live at the bottom of the hill, we live at the top. The sunset was magnificent and I snapped the photos as we drove down the hill.
If you click to enlarge the photo you can see the cars down at the bottom of the hill . . .
You can see the waters of Bellingham Bay and Lummi Island to the left.
And we are at the bottom of the hill. The sunset faded quickly - I was glad I took the photos as we came down the hill.

What a wonderful sunset, thanks for sharing,

In my experience JoAnn, the quicker you click the shutter the better when taking photos of sunsets - it can change in the blink of an eye. Yours are lovely.
Beautiful sunset! The sky changes so fast that you need to have your camera ready.
I have found your blog via The Weaver of Grass. What wonderful photographs of the sunset and area around where you live. It has given me inspiration to get my camera out and start taking some photographs, although today it is wet and I cannot see anything but mist from the hill.

Beautiful captures of that setting sun, JoAnn! I love the shot of the bay and the island and that dramatic sky to frame it all in. Love those big puffy clouds in the first two shots, edged with orange. I do think that there are no two sunsets alike. Like snowflakes, they are all different. Very pretty. xx
Seriously, I don't think that I've seen a sunset like that in my life..not around here! This is breathtaking
O pôr do sol me parece realmente muito encantador...sempre com seus tons lindos e suaves. Adorei, um abraço!
The sun and the sky make for much drama. Beautiful sunset.
Such striking lighting in the sky! Magnififcent!
Fotos lindas com o contraste do sol e céu.
Um lindo final de semana. Abraços
your sunset pics are super....I think anytime of year provides spectacular skies...
Oh your sunset shots are absolutely luminous!
That's almost too much happiness! A sky like that when you're on your way to visit your favorite people (grandchildren, aren't they wonderful)! What two more wonderful things could you put together. Fabulous. Thanks for sharing.
