Friday Fences

Someone has taken a lot of time and effort to make this fence - I wonder where they found all those old wheels.

This fence went on forever

A view of the farm through the fence.

This is near Uniontown, WA, north of Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA - on the eastern edge of Washington, in the area known as the Palouse.

The barn was built in 1935 and the fence built by a member of the original family.  There are 1,000 wheels in the fence.

It is now a non-profit organization that provides studio space for artists to work in and sell their creations, consignment artists' sales,  local performing and exhibiting artists, and creative  workshops.

There is also  a gift shop and artisans at work in their studio spaces, a monthly art exhibition, and regularly scheduled classes and performance events.

Four big events are held each year: A demonstration day in April, a summer tea, a fall festival in September and a Holiday Gala with gifts in December.

Amazing what people will put into a fence...time, money and buidling materials! Love it!

I love seeing the fence, but I rarely get that direction. Great photos!

OK, that's about the coolest-looking pastoral scene I have ever seen. And that is about the coolest-looking fence I've ever seen! How wonderful that it all has such historical significance, and that it is a place for artisans to share their wares! Wow! Oh, and I loved seeing you have a book! I am going to add it to my list!

Wonderful fence...I have seen pictures of a fence similar to this or maybe the same one by another blogger that lives in Washington. I would love to have a fence like this, but would never have thought of doing it myself.

What a conversation piece! This fence building project much have gone on for years. So many people would love to have just one of these many wheels. It would not work at my place because of a certain naughty pup who's trying to dig out of the yard--hope it's just a phase. . .
