Catching the Light

Light is fascinating - sometimes it surprises me when I catch a glimpse of it in a different way.

Even a tiny bit of light on a snowy evening is inspiring.  .  .

Catching the morning light as it hits the new fallen snow.  .  .

Catching a deer in the snow - oh, that is a different kind of catching, but a good one.  .  .

Sunsets on the ocean - just a tiny space for the light to come through.  .  .

Even on a dark and gloomy day there is light to catch.  .  .

Blazing sunsets.  .  .

Gentle sunsets.  .  .

Light bursting across the sky.  .  .

Soft light, filtered through the trees.  .  .

Light justs before sunset - lighting up the trees by the river.  This happened so often that we took to calling this sight "river trees".  Now when we see that last bit of light catching something just before sunset, we call out "river trees" - even though it often is not near a river.

Sunset at the beach, looks soft enough to touch.  .  .

And the light at the end of the tunnel. .  .

  5. I absolutely love this kind of post where the blogger/photographer takes the time and thought to really explore a subject from many different angles. I couldn't even begin to choose a favorite. They all have their place in the "story of light." Well done indeed, JoAnn.

  10. JoAnn those photographs are simply beautiful. I particularly like the River Trees. Is there snow on the trees to make them so white?
