Small Things
Like finally catching a Chickadee at the feeder. They are so fast that I often get a blur. I was really excited when I got this shot of the small chickadee.
Another small thing that thrilled me - catching the Song Sparrow at the feeder. For some reason we have very few Sparrows near our house - I hear them singing in the woods, but rarely have I seen one at the feeder. Small, but exciting!
And another small thing - a sparrow in a thicket of blackberry vines - they flit about so fast - but this one waited while I took several photos.

I was intrigued by this hand written menu at a Custard Stand in Wisconsin - Candied Bacon Sundae?? No thanks!!
Mrs. Brown Dirt, illustrating the types of honey - the sign should say "Nooksack River Wildflower" - wonder where the other letters went? This is the world's best honey. You pick out your type and jar size of the local honey and put your money in the slot. Added bonus - local honey, taken daily, helps stop allergies - just a little in your tea every morning is all it takes - and so much better than allergy shots - which don't really cure the allergy, honey does cure it.

This woodpile was amazing - tall as a two story building - stacked in a U-shape in the tin building - with more wood to be cut and stacked. The log ends in the foreground are in a pile about 9 feet tall - for perspective. My questions is - how will they get the wood down from the top of the stack? They certainly don't have to worry about wood for many years now.
Window Beauty
There is a certain beauty to the windows in this very old taxi that we came upon on a back road.
Oh the things that have been seen out of the windows of this tired old Taxi. The excitement of little kids looking out the windows during their first Taxi ride - the anticipation of where a taxi will take us.
This window art is for our son-in-law Jay and our grandson Jahn-Zyel. Do you have relatives in a small town in Wisconsin? Love the combination business, Barber Shop and Computer Repair.
love that old taxi and your little valentine is a sweetie!!
ReplyDeleteLike Deanna, I absolutely love that old taxi. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteThe old taxi is beautiful - imagine the stories it could tell.
ReplyDeleteThe barber shop sign is a hoot!
What a great set. I would be excited about capturing the birds too. I have a very hard time trying to photograph those little birds.
ReplyDeleteLoving that old Taxi.
Your grandson is adorable.
Oh I have catching up to do with you. The scavenger hunt game sounds fun...and I see you managed to get all the clues too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great series of photos on your scavenger hunt! Love those sweet little birds and your little grandson is just precious. My Grandfather ran a taxi company with that very same style of taxi. And.... North West Woodstacker, you're one of us! (A little joke from our local commercial for Pemco Ins.) Have a great week, JoAnn! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat wood pile is certainly a work of art for someone like me who has a wood burning stove which needs lots of feeding. Love the grandson shot too.
ReplyDeleteI love these photography challenges that you participate in. It really trains your eye to see, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteLove the taxi window :D
