February Card Party

This looks like fun - a Card Party.  I  love pretty cards - and we are to pick four photos  that we can make into notecards.  Only four?  I could pick 400.  But I'll stick to the rules and pick four.

Daisies are one of my favorites.  Our middle grandson, Ben, came up the steps one day, next to masses of Daisies, and said to me, "Grammy, avoid those flowers, they smell like garbage."  He was four.  I can never look at the lovely Daisy without thinking of him.

Foxgloves - the legend is that the Wee Folk would gather for dances in the garden, in the light of the moon,  and wear the flower cups for their mitts - "Folk's Gloves"

Long lovely stems of Alium swaying in the wind - it must be summer.

California Poppy - a bright spot for anyone's day.

There - that wasn't so hard was it?  Picking just four photos of flowers, fun and inspiring, and now I want summer to be here already.  Do you have a favorite flower or flower story?

Your grandson is right, some daisies really do stink. But they are so pretty in the garden that I'm happy to put up with them. Great photos for the card party!

I'll be giggling all day remembering your grandson's comment. I do love daisies (even if they stink) -- they are such a happy flower. Lovely selection of blooms. They are all lovely.

I adore cornflowers, mainly because of their brilliant blue colour.
Do you have them over there?

Beautiful...I love the orange poppies. Seeing them in a garden space on a bright sunny day truly brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart.

Beautiful! Wonderful reminder of the colors of summer, while it's still so cold and wet out there!

Lovely note cards. We are so in need of some color!
Love your mention of the Wee Folks. Lots if stories about them and the blooms. BTW... Daisies do stink.

Lovely colourful blooms that brought a smile to me on a snowy day.

Now I am really hoping that you'll have those made up. We've all done the research and realize that it can be done about as cheaply as purchasing a card...oftentimes cheaper! Lovely, lovely! Thank you for participating. Grandsons! Are they all alike? Recently, after making an afghan for my sofa, my grandson announced that it was a "fake blanket." He had a point so now I'm wondering if yours did as well.
