I shot about 250 pictures that day, and it was hard to pick one, but I love the three landing Snow Geese, they are landing on the edge of a huge flock, and even when they land in the middle of a flock that is very dense, they never land on top of each other - beautiful and clever birds. If you are anywhere near Skagit County in Washington you should make a trip to see these magnificent birds - it is a life changing experience. We've had them all fly up at once - thousands of them - and fly right over us - unbelievable.
This is just to give you an idea of the size of the flock - and this is about one tenth of the flock!
that's a lot of geese! Aren't you amazed sometimes at how many photos you take! Gotta love digital!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! so pretty and so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWe had a white turkey in with all the black/brown turkeys that come though our yard...well some hunter shot her and posted it on facebook.
I've never been so mad in my life. I don't know whether he did it on our property or not.

ReplyDeleteHow lovely to hear from you. Thank you for visiting my blog. I shall endeavour to put you on my side bar, although since Google altered everything I am not finding it easy. Your bird photographs are exquisite. The farmer and I have visited the States and Canada many times over the past ten years or so and I love to talk to you folk over there. Do come and see me again.
ReplyDeleteI have been there when they were all in the field. What a beautiful site. Your photos are wonderful. Please post more. My favorite poster of the Skagit Valley Tulips is 2006, with the tulips and the goose. How were you able to get so close? You must know a road that I don't. LOL
ReplyDeleteMe again. I meant to mention how much I like your blog header. It certainly depicts our pacific NW. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteWow! I have never seen that many birds together like that - it must have been amazing to be there in person. Your photos are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have tried to put you on my side bar and failed miserably, so it will have to wait until my son comes round and then he will do it for me. Lovely to have a new contact.
