Bald Eagle - Weekly Top Shot - Week# 17
Bald eagles are plentiful in NW WA this time of year. They have just returned from the rivers where they winter, and are beginning to build and clean up their nests. On a ride today up towards Blaine, on the border with Canada, we saw approximately 30 eagles, some flying and many sitting in the trees. I spent over half an hour waiting to get this shot - the eagle kept turning its head away from the camera. My patience paid off.
I am linking to The View From Right Here. Stop by and see some beautiful shots this week.
What a wonderful shot of our national bird... I never grow tired of seeing them in life or in photos! I'm so glad you decided to join us and share at Weekly Top Shot :-) I hope you'll come by and share again next week!

ReplyDeleteNice capture of this magnificent bird.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
I love eagles! This one's gorgeous. We've had more lately here in Sequim, too, and I'm seeing quite a few immatures. Aren't they a treat?
ReplyDeleteVery nice shot. We use to have them perching in a tree every morning when we lived in Ketchikan, Alaska.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous captures!
ReplyDeleteWe used to see Eagles in my neighborhood growing up here in southeast Missouri, but I haven't seen one, now, in 30 years, although, my parents saw a couple about 2 summers ago at their farm.
