I'm Ready For Spring

So I got out the springtime pretties - and it began to snow - again.  I persevered and now it looks like spring indoors - and winter outdoors.
A pretty patchwork egg candy box - just the thing for spring.
 Dining room china cabinet

My favorite cabbage bowls - just the thing for bunnies to play in.

 Big bunny, tiny bird

The vintage blue pieces are Rose Parade - there is a pretty pink rose on the handles.

Egg cups - waiting for eggs.

Froggy flower vase holds sparkly eggs, since we don't have any spring flowers yet
Eggs decorated with fabric YoYos sequins and beads
Ahhh, here is a garden - baskets of flowers napkin rings

Have you started to decorate for spring - and is it snowing at your house?

Mosaics are made with picmonkey

Barns

Lots of country drives - lots of barns - I've got to get caught up
Something very new and different - and very pretty
One of my favorites - on the way to  Stanwood, WA

Another favorite - it doesn't seem to have much  more time to be able to stand against nature
New metal siding and roof - and one unpainted side

No longer used for farming - but well kept
And a wonderful quilt block on the end of the big barn
Those lilac bushes will be gorgeous soon.
One of the mega farms in our area.  These are the reason many of the older barns are left to decay, the land is farmed, the barns are relics.
 And sometimes go wavy

 Long barn - another favorite

Thrift Store Fun

We haven't been to thrift stores for  a long time - and since it was raining this holiday weekend (President's Day today in the U.S - honoring presidents Lincoln and Washington - and others that we admire), we decided to stop at a couple of thrift shops on our day out.
Lots of fun stuff - squirrel plate for autumn, and the gold depression glass candy dish, white corelle berry bowls - they go with anything
Lots of reels of ribbon for doll clothes - these came out to about 25 cents a reel.  The little wooden tulips are for a garden for the dolls, and I got 4 doll stands (on the left in the first photo) for 4.99 for all four - which is about 10% of the original cost.
A deluxe Tripoley game - what a find!  And a better view of the white doll stands on the right.
And one of my favorites - tulip salt and pepper shakers!

Four pretty glass dessert dishes - shall we have an ice cream sundae?

And four skeins of yarn - 8 ounces each - for making hats for the homeless for next winter.  This amount of yarn will make at least 10 hats.
Extra fun this week - I made 13 1/2 pints of jam - raspberry/apricot and bumble berry (a mix of blackberry, blueberry and raspberry), and a fresh apple cake.  The berries and apricots had been frozen last summer - I like to make jam in the winter and not on the warm summer days.  And any time is a good time for an apple cake.
It was a great weekend
