Black and White Rubbish Wednesday

This is a combination post - for Black and White Wednesday - Rubbish Tuesday.  I've never done Rubbish Tuesday and it looked like fun.

We see this house and barn on this hillside on the way to Mt. Baker. It sits off to the side of a new round-about and in order to get these photos we waited for a big break in the traffic and then drove around the round-about again and again until I was happy with the view.  We couldn't stop on the round-about - there are rules about that - but no one ever said we couldn't go round and round.  The things Don will do for me so I can get a photo I want.

At first we thought this was someone's house and farm - but if you look  closely you will see that some of  the windows are boarded up, the porch is sagging and the weeds are growing taller.

Off in the distance you can see more rubbish - probably old farm machinery - in the edge of the woods.

What a pity it is becoming derelict. I like your first black and white picture best of all. It looks dramatic.

The things we'll do to get a photo! Glad you were successful. Lovely!

The black and white shots remind me of the "value scales" we painted in Design 101 class. Amazing how many shades of gray there are. Looks like you may have captured every single one of them. Lots of depth in those photos.
And "round-abouts" - omg - headache and panic attack all rolled into one!

Driving round and round the round about made me laugh! You did get some great photos!

I can just imagine life there. I am surprised someone has not snapped it up and brought it back to life.

Love these old places!

It looks like that poor old farmhouse has begun to list to one side. These shots look good in black and white.

And the bird is sitting and waiting. Your husband should have let you out of the car and picked you up on the next lap.

JoAnn,
The B&W really adds a tone to your farmstead shots. It doesn't look abandoned, maybe it hasn't been boarded up very long. I always wonder what stories these older farm/ranches could tell.
