New China Hutch

Oh how I love dishes - pretty tea cups - pretty tea pots

And what follows pretty tea cups and pretty tea pots - is a new hutch, of course

This is my new hutch - we found it late one afternoon at a church sale - for 20.00 - the lady who was running the sale even delivered it to us later that afternoon.

I like teapots on the lower shelf

And tea cups.

There are two cupboards below the drawers for storing other pretty dishes.

And tea sets - I keep changing my mind, but I like it all

This is my newest tea set - it is child size - but a little larger than most children's tea sets

The lady who was selling it said that she had been given the tea set as a child in the 50s and was never allowed to play with it

How very sad  - but I will play with it - and I'll enjoy it.  Her name was Kit and the box was labeled "Kit's Tea Set"  I will always treasure this set.

The little cups have a cute ruffled foot

The rose design is featured on each piece, tea pot, creamer, sugar and cups and saucers

I found this teapot and tea mugs at the same church sale.  I was surprised that there was so much good stuff late in the day.

For Washington Blueberries I must have this tea-for-one set, with the teapot on top and the tea cup below

This magnolia tea-for-one set has a little plate for some cookies.

And all the lovely tea cups

This one says "Alaska" below the walrus on the saucer.

One of my favorites - the design is on the inside and outside of the cup

A closer look at the pretty flowers

OH - a favorite with pretty colored daisies and a lovely gold rim

A pretty pink rose

Well, I have to admit - all are my favorites - it is like my children - they are all my favorite!!

I have an extensive collection of demitasse cups (which I used to use when we had room to entertain) they are all kinds of designs from all over the place. I designed a wall cupboard (actually two) to hold them all and show them off. Luckily, mine has glass doors ot I would be dusting forever as each case holds 25 sets. I love looking at yours, and the hutch is lovely ... as are the little tea pots.

Oh my goodness! You have really shared some wonderful china here! One that really caught my eye is your new rose tea set. It is so sweet. And so sad that the woman who owned it for soooo long didn't ever enjoy it. I am glad you will. I believe the name of the pattern is Moss Rose.
Thank you so much for sharing your new hutch and wonderful tea cups and tea pots!
Hugs,
Terri

I would have much more pretty china if I had somewhere to put it! Your new hutch is ideal. I really love Kit's tea set, how sad that she wasn't allowed to play with it.

Oh, your teacups and teapots are so pretty - I would have a hard time picking a favorite, too! The child's tea set is really special! I love the blueberry set, and the walrus is a nice reminder of your Alaskan childhood. Such a good deal on your hutch! Everything looks so pretty inside. xo

Hi JoAnn,
Oh my, what a wonderful hutch and filled with such wonderful china! That child sized tea set is just adorable and what a shame the lady never got to enjoy it as a child. So happy for you that you will get to 'play' with all of these. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Tea Time and have a beautiful day.

Blessings,
Sandi

I'm always impressed with your finds - good job! (And late in the day, too!) How perfect that you now have a very nice new hutch so you can show off your favorites, rotate them around, and then start all over again!

A really beautiful collection of teatime china JoAnn. Love the tea-for-one sets. Great bargain on the hutch - pretty things such as these need to be displayed - and sometimes used - to get enjoyment from them, not hidden away!
